Choosing to keep their clientele exclusive, the Fish Art Centeronly represents a select few artists. It too is on a mission to create artistic connections with the rest of the world in a bid to bring local Taiwanese artists to international acclaim. Amongst the chosen few artists that the gallery does represents are Huang Mingchun who is known for his red, yellow and green painting palette and Lin Chiahung best known for her paintings featuring unsmiling children.
Kyushu was an important stage for international interactions since ancient times. This was due to its geographical proximity to continental Asia and the Korean Peninsula. Kyushu National Museum uses the concept of “understanding the formation of Japanese culture from the Asian historical perspective” as the basis for Cultural Exchange Exhibition (permanent exhibition; around 4,000m2 floor area). It introduces the history of cultural exchange between Japan and Asia.
